PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:


2015 to 2016 – Germany
In August of 2015 Aline moved to Germany where she set up her own studio, which contains a whole Pietra Dura workshop, silversmithing and wood work facilities. During this two years Aline have engaged in projects where she could combined her diverse skills into single projects.

Alongside with her art pieces she has been teaching Art workshops on Baku, Azerbaijan. Those workshops were run by PSTA (Prince's School of Traditional Arts) in conjunction with ICTA (Icherisheher Centre for Traditional Arts).

During the year of 2016 Aline spent the year painting and dyeing fabrics all with natural dyes and paints produced by her.

2013 to 2015 – England
From August 2013 until August 2015.
Main activities as a self-employed artist working only under commissions with a technique called Pietra Dura, which consists in stone inlaying and puzzling. Like marquetry but with stones. One of her commissions was a Royal Family Crest to be inlayed on the grave of King Richard III.


During this period Aline was also engaged with art teaching, developing lesson plans, organizing and delivering art workshops throughout the UK.


She participated in a project for a museum in Philippines about their national textiles where she produced an illustrational sheet about one of their pieces. This work can be found in a book called Art and the Order of Nature in Indigenous Philippine Textiles.


During this period, Aline, together with two other authors, wrote a book called The Secrets of Islamic Patterns, to be released by the publisher Assembly House from Canada. This book is the first of a collection formed by five others, analyzing and revealing secrets of art works from around the globe.


2010 – Rio de Janeiro/Brazil – 7 months
Working for the company Group Multifoco.
Multifoco is a company situated in the heart of the cultural movements in Rio, in Lapa, that have three main activities: publishing, recording, and a entertainment center - where their authors and musicians used to perform, among many others artists.
Main activities: designing and illustrating CD covers and packaging, book covers, flyers, posters, brochures. Accompanying all the process, the creation until the printing and assembling.


2008 / 2009 – Rio de Janeiro/Brazil 
Freelancer, working in the area of graphic design, illustration, costume design and set design:
Short filme Paó Sem Palavras – Graphic design.
Short film Resíduos – Costumes, opening video, graphic design.
Documentary Simone Weil - Graphic design, special effects make up, videographism, set design, and costume design assistance.


2007 – Rio de Janeiro/Brazil – 6 months
Working for a company called Overend as a fashion designer assistant in the female segment, responsible for 50% of the company’s development.


2004/2005 - Jaraguá do Sul/Brazil – 1 year
Working for  Jô Birô – Acting as a fashion and graphic designer.


2004 – Jaraguá do Sul/Brazil – 320 Hours
Internship at SENAI (An educational organization where she has attended two after school trainings). While doing the internship there she was working in different textile factories in the region, to help her learning in all the areas and sectors of the textile industry.

CEKAT Modeling Agency. Working as a fashion producer in the development of catalogs, fashion shows, banners, magazines and textile conferences.

AWARDS


2004 - Participated of the ”2004 Olímpiadas do Conhecimento” (2004 Knowledge Olympics) in the area of fashion design, winning 1st place in the regionals, 1st place in the State of Santa Catarina, and 5th place in the nationals, reaching the maximum score in all of the surprise tests. This competition is amongst all the 750 SENAI institutions in Brazil.


2013 – Kairos Award. Kairos in an organization founded by Keith Critchlow, which is also de founder of the PSTA Arts School where she obtained her master’s Degree. This award was giving to her hand drawn geometries, which were the base for her wooden panels creations.
